Privacy Policy
Valley Hot Tubs ("Valley Hot Tubs", "we", "us") is a British Columbia business. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our business, why we collect it, how we protect it and how you can reach us about it. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Quote and contact form: your name, phone number, email address, city, what you're interested in and any details you choose to give us about your project or your hot tub
- Phone, email and showroom conversations: the information you share when you call, write to us or visit
- Service and installation: your address and the details we need to deliver, install or service your hot tub
- Website analytics: when analytics is turned on, pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies by Google Analytics
Why we collect it
- To reply to your request and prepare a quote
- To arrange a site check, delivery, installation, repair or service visit
- To provide the products and services you buy from us and handle any follow-up
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
- To send commercial electronic messages where you have consented
- To meet legal, tax, insurance and record-keeping obligations
Consent
By submitting a form you consent to our collecting and using the information you provide to reply to your request. Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we don't send marketing messages such as offers or newsletters unless you have given consent or another CASL exemption applies. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us at hello@valleyhottubs.ca.
You can manage cookies or turn them off in your browser settings. Turning cookies off does not stop you from using the site or submitting a form.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to do work for us, under terms that limit how they may use it:
- Our form delivery provider, which sends form submissions to our inbox
- Our website hosting provider
- Our analytics provider, Google, which processes cookie and usage data under its own privacy policy
- Professional advisors, insurers and public authorities where the law requires it
Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Information about a purchase, installation or service visit is kept for as long as needed to support your hot tub and for the period required for tax, warranty, insurance and legal purposes. Analytics data is kept according to the analytics provider's settings and then deleted or anonymized.
Safeguards
We protect personal information with physical, technical and administrative measures suited to its sensitivity, including access controls and encrypted transmission of form data.
Access and correction
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. We will respond within the time PIPA requires, generally 30 business days, and may need to confirm your identity first.
